And this is where a summer day at Bingemans turns into a summer night.
During the summer months, the Bingemans Summer Concert Series brings live music to the property, giving visitors the chance to end an action-packed day with an outdoor concert.

Then live music under the summer sky.
It’s a completely different kind of family getaway, where the entertainment doesn’t stop when the sun goes down.
We caught a set on the outdoor stage after dinner during our visit, and it was a nice change of pace from the high energy of the waterpark earlier in the day. Concert dates are not every night, so it is worth checking the schedule ahead of time.

One of the biggest advantages of a Bingemans staycation is convenience.

Best Time to Visit Spring
Spring is quieter at Bingemans since Big Splash Waterpark has not opened for the season yet, but it is a good time to visit FunworX and the mini golf course without summer crowds. We found the weather in Waterloo Region can still be unpredictable through April and May, so we would pack layers for an outdoor visit.
Summer
Summer is peak season, with Big Splash Waterpark open alongside camping and the Summer Concert Series. We visited in July and found weekends noticeably busier than weekdays, so a weekday trip means less time waiting in line.
Fall
By fall, the waterpark season has wrapped up, but Bingemans still runs indoor attractions like FunworX and gets involved in the Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest season. We think early fall is a nice window for a quieter, cooler visit without the summer crowds.
Winter
Winter shifts the focus indoors, with FunworX staying open and Bingemans hosting its Gift of Lights display through the holiday season. We would recommend checking the Bingemans events calendar directly since winter programming changes year to year.
Big Splash Water Slide Park Review: Bingemans By Area
- Waterpark area: This is where Big Splash Waterpark sits, with the slides, wave pool and twilight sessions we mentioned above. We found this area gets busiest between late morning and early afternoon, so plan around that if you want shorter lines.
- Camping area: Set slightly apart from the waterpark, the campground gives you tent, trailer, log cabin and container cabin options. We liked that it was close enough to walk to the attractions but quiet enough to actually unwind at night.
- FunworX and entertainment area: This indoor zone houses the arcade, ropes course and play structure, with Kingpin Bowlounge close by. We used this area as our backup plan on the one overcast afternoon during our visit.
- Mini golf and outdoor attractions area: Closer to the entrance, this is where you will find the mini golf course and other outdoor family attractions. We think this area works well as a lower-key activity to bookend a busy day at the waterpark.
Free and No-Reservation Options
Bingemans is largely a paid-admission property, and based on our visit we did not come across any major attractions that were free to access. What we did find is that not everything requires booking weeks in advance.
Big Splash Waterpark sells both gate tickets and discounted online tickets, so you can decide closer to your visit date rather than committing months ahead, though arriving early on busy summer weekends is still worth it to grab loungers.
For mini golf, we found it was easy to walk up and pay at the counter without pre-booking. Kingpin Bowlounge was a different story for us on a Saturday night, since lanes were fully booked by the time we tried to walk in, so calling ahead on weekends is worth doing. Because pricing and booking policies can change from one season to the next, we would always recommend confirming directly with Bingemans before your visit.
Tips for Visiting with Kids or Toddlers
If you are bringing young kids or toddlers, a few practical things stood out to us during our visit. The waterpark can get loud and crowded by early afternoon, so arriving close to opening gives little ones more space to get comfortable in the water before it fills up.
Twilight admission after 4pm is worth considering if you have toddlers who nap earlier in the day, since it lets you plan the visit around their schedule rather than the other way around. We also noticed that FunworX is a useful indoor backup if a child needs a break from the sun or the water, since it is climate controlled and less overwhelming than the open waterpark.
